Hi, I’m Tracie!
After spending 30 fulfilling years as a Community Staff Nurse, I made a big change in 2021 to pursue something that had been on my heart for a long time. The turning point came after the passing of my father, which inspired me to take a new path—one that would bring together my love for animals and my desire to create something special.
That’s how I found my way into dog grooming. The name of my salon, TJ, is actually a nickname my dad used to call me, so it holds a special place in my heart. I started by training as a dog groomer and later expanded my skills by completing a cat grooming course at Absolutely Animals in London.
At first, I worked from my dining room (which wasn’t exactly ideal, as you can imagine!), but with the amazing support of my husband, we converted our garage into a full-fledged salon. It’s been an incredible journey, and I take immense pride in both my business and the extensive training I’ve invested in.
I recently took things a step further by specializing in Breed Standard grooming, achieving my Level 3 qualification at Gillsmans Academy in Hastings.
Running this business has been an absolute joy, and I truly believe it’s the best job ever!
I own a dog and 3 cats – two of which are Maine Coons. They take a lot of grooming which led me to complete a cat grooming course.
I am friendly and approachable and have been told by customers and friends that my passion for animals shines through. I treat all of your pets as I would want mine treated.

Welcome to TJ’s
At TJ’s, your pet will receive a completely one-on-one grooming experience, without the presence of other animals. However, if you have multiple pets from the same household and they get along well, we can discuss bringing them in together to ensure they feel comfortable during their grooming sessions.
When you bring your pet to TJ’s, you can trust they’ll be in the care of a kind, compassionate, and professional groomer. The well-being of your pet is our top priority, and we always take into account your specific requests to ensure both you and your pet are satisfied.
We offer free introduction sessions to give you and your pet a chance to visit the salon, meet me, and get comfortable with the environment. Communication is key here—ensuring we understand exactly what you want for your pet is incredibly important to us.
We take a holistic approach, treating each pet as an individual with their own unique needs and personality. Time, patience, and trust-building are central to our process, and each visit includes a mini health check to make sure your pet is thriving and there are no new concerns since their last visit.
Professionalism is a core value at TJ’s, which means your pet will receive focused, high-quality care—with plenty of breaks, cuddles, and stretching time to prevent fatigue (because being groomed can be tiring!).
We also have Terms & Conditions for each client to review and sign, and we require a small deposit to secure your booking. Every pet has a detailed record of their visits to track their progress and care over time.
